normally i don't like fan fiction, but i thought "hey, why not try my hand at it?" i don't have a title for it yet, but if you want to suggest one that would be great! enough of me babbling..here it is:
Chapter 1
"Well, that's the last one." Rose said to herself, setting down a box. She stood and looked around her first apartment, taking it all in that she was finally on her own. She went into the bathroom and flicked on the lightswitch. None of the lights worked. "Ahh dammit. The bulb must be dead." She put on a different outfit and went to a hardware store. She bought a few boxes of lightbulbs and went out into the parking lot. She looked over and noticed someone she recognized standing by his car. She took a deep breath and walked over there.
"Are you.........Benji Madden?" she asked nervously. "Yeah." he said, not even looking at her. "Well....ummm...My name is Rose, and I know you probably get this a lot, but I'm a big fan." By this time her knees were shaking she was so nervous. She hoped she wouldn't say anything stupid. "Oh. Cool. Thanks." he said, still not looking at her. "So.....You bought a....woodchipper?" she asked, trying to make conversation. "Yeah. I got some stuff to take care of." he said rather flatly. "What are you guys up to right now?" Rose asked, realizing it would be a bit hopeless to have an actual conversation with him. "We're recording a new album." he said, finally looking at her. He looked her up and down a few times slowly, in a way that made the hair on the back of Rose's neck stand up. "That's cool. Where are you recording at?" she asked, trying to shake away the creepy feeling. "We're all living in a house in the woods. It's pretty remote. It's far away from people. It's one of those houses where if you were in it and something happened to you, no one would hear you scream." he said in a rather monotone voice. "Oh.........That sounds..........lovely." Rose said, very creeped out by what he had just said. "You know, you're not like how I pictured you to be." "I've been getting that a lot lately." he paused for a bit, then looked her up and down again. "Would you like to drop by the house later?" "Sure. That would be great." she said. Something told her not to go, but she got directions anyway.

Chapter 2
Later on that evening, Rose followed the directions she got very carefully. After about an hour of driving through the woods and what seemed like the middle of nowhere she finally came to the house. It stood rather tall and looked very broken down. It was not what she expected at all. Shingles on the roof were missing and some of the shudders on the windows looked like they were about to fall off. It was in late October so most of the leaves had fallen off of the trees and the scent of freshly burned leaves hung heavy in the air. She walked up to the house and knocked on the door.
"Hello." Joel said after opening the door. "Hi. I'm Rose. Benji invited me here. I'm sorry if I interrupted anything important that you were doing." she said, extending her hand. "He didn't mention anything about that." Joel said, flatly. "Oh." she said, looking passed Joel and into the living room. It was fairly messy and it looked like nobody had ever dusted it. "It looks like it might rain. Maybe you should come in." he said, still very monotone. He slowly closed the door behind her. "This place is very.....rustic." she said, looking around. It looked like the cliche haunted houses she'd seen in so many horror movies. "So, are you here by yourself?" "Yes." Joel said. "Where is everybody?" she asked. "Gone." he said with a slight smirk. It was the first time his facial expression had changed since she got there. "When will they be back?" she asked, starting to feel very uncomfortable. "I don't know." he said, sitting down on a nearby chair. She sat down too and felt the fabric of the couch and a pillow. "This pillow feels really cool. Was it here when you moved in?" she asked. "I made it." he said. "May I use your bathroom?" she asked. She needed to get away from him. He pointed at a door passed the kitchen. As soon as she went in and closed the door he went outside. It had begun to rain and he pulled his sweatshirt closer to him and he pulled up the hood of her car and disconnected the battery. He wanted her to stay for a long time.

Chapter 3
Joel went back inside and took off his sweatshirt so Rose wouldn't notice he had been outside. The light inside was so dim it wouldn't have been noticeable anyway, but he wanted to play it safe. Rose came out of the bathroom and gathered her coat and her purse.
"It's been really nice, but I really should be going." she said. She was desperate to leave. "You should stay a little longer." he said, standing up from his chair. "Have a drink with me." "I shouldn't." she said, moving towards the door. "I insist." he said rather harshly. "OK." she sat back down on the couch. He poured her some wine from a bottle on a table in the corner of the room. He poured himself something from a different bottle. He walked over and handed a glass to her. "Thank you." "To.......a new friendship." he toasted. She took a few sips of wine and gathered her things again. "I really should be going now. It's raining really hard now and it'll probably take me longer to get home now." she said, walking to the door. "I hope you come back soon." he said.
She got into her car and sat there for a moment thinking about how creepy the evening had been. 'What the hell was wrong with him?' she thought. Joel walked over to the window and peeked out to watch her. She tried to start her car but it wouldn't turn over. "Dammit! Why now?! I want to get out of here!" she yelled. She got out of her car and ran back to the house and knocked on the door. He opened it.
"My car won't start. Do you think you could take a look at it for me?" she asked him. "Yes. Come in and get warm." he said. He put on his sweatshirt and went outside and pretended to be trying to fix the car. Rose looked around the living room. 'This place is so creepy.' she thought. Joel came back inside.
"I don't know what's wrong with it. You'll have to wait until tomorrow and take it to a mechanic." he said in his usual monotone way. "Well thanks for trying." she said, very disappointed. "You can sleep in Benji's room tonight. He won't mind." he said. "I'll lend you some clothes for the night." "Are you sure he won't mind? What if he comes back tonight?" she asked. "I doubt that." he said as he lead her upstairs. He showed her into Benji's room. There was only a bed, a dresser, an end table with a clock, and a rocking chair. "I'll be right back." "OK." she said, looking around the room and getting chills. "Benji where are you?" "Here are some clothes." Joel said coming back into the room. He handed her a black MADE tshirt and some flannel pajama pants. "Thank you." she said. "If you need anything I'll be in the room next to you." he said. "Well.......Goodnight." she said. "Pleasant dreams Rose." he said while closing the door. She shuddered at the sound of his voice. She changed into Joel's clothes and got into the bed. The rain was coming down even harder and it was accompanied by thunder and lightning. She pulled the blankets closer to her and wished she was somewhere else. After a few minutes she drifted off to sleep.
She was startled awake by a jolt of thunder that shook the house. She looked at the clock. It was only midnight. 'This is going to be a long night.' she thought. She got up and went downstairs to get a glass of water. She blindly walked through the living room bumping into several things until she finally came to the kitchen. She could see the rain through the window and she felt a bit peaceful. There was a flash of lightning and she saw Joel sitting at the table for a brief second. She screamed. It was almost pitch black in the room again. Joel pulled on the chain to turn the light in the kitchen on. He was standing five inches from her face.
"Couldn't sleep?" he asked. She could feel his breath on her face. "No. I came to get some water." she said, inching away. "Allow me." he said, grabbing a glass and turning on the faucet. "Thank you." she said, sitting down in a chair at the table. She was annoyed that he was there with her. She wanted to be alone, or at least away from him. He handed her the glass of water. It was brown in color. "Why is it brown?" "The pipes are rusty." he said, sitting back down. "Oh." she pushed the glass aside. "What are you doing up?" "I couldn't sleep." he said. "I like to come down here and sit in the dark and.....listen." "To what?" she asked. "Dead silence."

Chapter 4
Rose was very disturbed by what Joel had just said. She decided she would try to flatter him to see if he would lighten up a bit.
"You know, Joel, I hope you don't tell anyone, but, you're my favorite." she said, winking. A look of anger slowly crept onto his face. "I'm not supposed to be your favorite." he said quietly. He grew furious and slammed his fists on the table. "I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR FAVORITE!!!" "I'm sorry! Who is?" she asked in a panic. He immediately calmed down. "Not me." he said between his teeth. "I'm sorry." she said. He was glaring at her. "I'll try to go and get some sleep. Goodnight."
She went back upstairs and got into bed. 'Why would he flip out like that?' she thought. After a little while she fell asleep. While she was sleeping Joel walked into the room and moved the rocking chair so it would face Rose. He sat down, began to rock back and forth, and watched her sleep. She awoke to hear a strange creaking noise. She looked over and saw Joel in the chair watching her.
"Ummm.....What are you doing?" she asked. "Watching you sleep. You look so peaceful." he said. He stopped rocking. "Do you realize how creepy that is?!" she asked, getting frustrated. "You don't find it flattering?" he asked. He got up and sat on the bed. "You're very beautiful Rose." "No! I'm trying to sleep! Please leave!" she struggled to move farther away from him. His eyes hardened. He reached out and touched her face. "You shouldn't be ungrateful." he said. He got up and left the room. She reached for her purse and tried to grab her cell phone, but she couldn't find it. 'Please tell me he didn't take it!' she thought. She searched the rest of the room for, but it was nowhere to be found. She crept out into the hallway and went downstairs to look for it. She heard footsteps coming up the basement stairs and she ran back up to her room. She decided to check Joel's room. She went in there started going through the drawers.
"Couldn't sleep?" Joel said as he appeared in the doorway. She quickly closed the drawer. "Um......I was going to ask you if you had a pair of socks I could borrow........Mine are thin and my feet are cold." she said, trying to think of a lie really fast. "I don't think you're telling me the truth Rose." he said, walking towards her. "I am! I swear it!" she started to panic. "I couldn't find you , so I figured I could just borrow them!" "You should go back to sleep." he said, touching her face again. She quickly left the room and went back into hers. She lied down and fell asleep.

Chapter 5
Rose woke up and noticed it was light outside. The long night was finally over. As she was getting dressed she was thinking of an escape plan. 'Maybe if I tell him I want to go into town to find a mechanic he'd let me take his car. Too bad for him I wouldn't come back.' She thought she had a pretty good plan. She went downstairs and smelled something cooking. She went into the kitchen and saw Joel making breakfast.
"Good morning." she said, trying to sound cheerful. He didn't respond. She sat in uncomfortable silence thinking of something to say. "Here. Eat." he said, putting a plate of eggs and sausage in front of her. "Thank you." she said, looking at the plate. "I didn't think you ate meat. Did you start again?" "I only eat it sometimes." he said, taking a bite of the sausage. Rose also took a bite of the meat on her plate. "It's good. What kind is it?" she asked. "I don't remember the name of it." he said. "Oh." Rose said. She started to feel kind of dizzy. "Joel I don't feel so good..........I think I might-" "Faint." he finished her sentence as she fell to the floor. He picked her up and placed her back on Benji's bed. He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "Rest now."
At about midnight Rose finally came to. She groggily looked at the clock and saw what time it was. She looked around the room and her heart sank when she realized she was still at that house. 'Dammit. What the hell happened?' She stood up, but struggled to keep her balance. She stumbled over to the window and looked out. She saw Joel standing and staring up at her. She finally broke down and began to sob. 'What does he want from me?!' she wondered. She rocked herself back and forth praying she would make it out of the house alive. She was sure Joel was planning on killing her. She needed to get out of there, and fast. She went downstairs and went to the refrigerator to gather some food. She planned on walking to the nearest town and she needed some provisions. She opened up the refrigerator door and screamed.

Chapter 6
Rose quickly covered her mouth to muffle her scream so Joel wouldn't hear her in the kitchen. She stared in complete horror at the head of Chris Wilson on a platter. They both had the same expression on their faces. He obviously died in terror. Next to the head was a heart. She closed the refrigerator and ran into the living room. She heard Joel coming down the stairs and she hid under the table in the corner of the room. He stood at the bottom of the stairs and looked around the room, then he went outside. Once it was clear she stood up. She saw the bottle of wine that Joel poured her a glass out of the day before. Then she saw the bottle next to it. It was the bottle that Joel drank out of. She picked it up and smelled it. 'This doesn't smell like wine.' she thought. She took a swig of it and realized it was blood. She spit it out and gagged. 'What the fuck is wrong with him?' Tears welled up in her eyes. She had never been so scared in her entire life. She heard the doorknob turn and she ducked under the table again. Joel came back inside and walked through the living room. He stood in front of the table and dropped something and it fell to the floor with a heavy thud. It was Cashdogg. There was a screwdriver sticking out of his skull. She almost gagged again. 'He's a psycho!' she thought. She heard him drinking out of one of the bottles and set it down.
"I'll deal with you later." Joel said, nudging the dead dog with his foot. He went up the stairs. Rose got out from under the table. She couldn't stop looking at Cash. She heard Joel coming down the stairs again. It would be too risky for her to hide under the table again, so she opened the door by the table. It led to the basement. She knew it would be stupid to go down there, but she had no other choice.

Chapter 7
When Rose got into the basement she searched the walls for a lightswitch. She walked a couple feet out and felt a chain. She pulled on it and a light came on. It was still very dim, but light enough that she could see where a lightswitch was. She flicked it on and only one light turned on. She couldn't believe what she was seeing being luminated by the single light. She stood frozen in terror.
"Oh...my....God!" she whispered. She knew she couldn't scream. Joel would find her. "This has got to be a nightmare."
She started to cry out of fear and sadness. Chris' body hung from a makeshift crucifix near one of the corners. She started walking towards it, almost curious. She saw "Christ bearer" carved into his outstretched arms. She saw another lightswitch and flicked it on. All of the lights in the room came on. With the whole room lit up she could see what else he had done.

Chapter 8
She turned around and saw Paul lying on a table. He had been skinned on his back, arms, and his stomach. She started shaking violently out of terror. She remembered touching a pillow on the couch. She stared at her hand in disbelief. In another corner was Billy. He was lying on a bench, wrapped in barbed wire and was disemboweled. By the looks of it, it had been fairly recent. Blood was still dripping onto the floor. She saw a bathtub near the bench. She didn't want to look in it, but something compelled her to go over and look. She peered into the tub and saw a body completely skinned and pieces missing. The eyes that were still intact seemed to be staring at her, pleaing for help. She stumbled backward and fell down to the floor. She couldn't breathe. She had no idea what to do. Should she call the police? Should she run for her life?
"What are you doing down here Rose?" Joel asked from the bottom of the stairs. "What did you do to them?!" she yelled. "What I had to do." he said, walking toward her. "You're a psycho!" she said stepping away from him. "Am I? I thought I was doing them a favor." he said, looking at the bodies. "By killing them?!" she said. "You're a murderer Joel!" "No. They had it coming. They didn't respect me! They didn't like me!" he kicked the bench and Billy's body fell to the floor. He gasped and put Billy back on the bench. "I'm sorry Billy. You just stay here. I'll take care of you." "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?! HE'S DEAD!!!" Rose screamed. "I saved him." he said, almost sounding weak. He ran his fingers through Billy's hair. "You're crazy!" she said, crying. He walked over to the bathtub and stuck his hand into the water as he lovingly touched the body. "Why did you have to do it?" he said to the body, starting to cry. "Why did you have to be better than me?" "Wh-who's in there?" she asked. "My brother." he said.

Chapter 9
"You killed your own brother?!" Rose asked in complete disbelief. Joel stood up and started walking towards Rose. She backed up against the wall. She knew she had to do something drastic otherwise she could've been next. She charged at him and began to hit and kick him any place she could. He tried to push her away. She grabbed his hair and pulled. His face had shifted upwards a little bit. She quickly backed up to the wall again. Joel reached to the back of his head and started to pull forward, peeling his skin off.
"BENJI?!" Rose screamed. She fell to her knees in horror. "Yes Rose." Benji said, holding his mask. He pushed his shirt sleeves up and peeled off the skin from his arms, revealing his colorful tattoos. "I'm sure you're wondering what's going on." "I don't want to know." she said, shaking her head. "Ever since we were little, Joel was always liked better than me. Mom liked him better, teachers liked him better, my friends always liked him better, then the fans liked him better." he started, pacing back and forth in front of Rose. "Then one day I decided I was going to become him." "Why did you kill them?" Rose was crying again. "Because they all knew." Benji said, kneeling down in front of her. "I killed them because I loved them." "No." she said, shaking her head. "If you loved them why did you do horrible things to them?" "I made them beautiful!" he said, looking around. "If you made them beautiful why are parts of Joel missing?" she asked, but she knew what the truth was. She was hoping she was wrong. "When I eat him, or drink his blood, he's becoming a part of me. After I finish I will be Joel. I won't be Benji anymore. I'll finally get what I've always wanted." he confessesd. He put his finger under her chin and made her look him in the eye. "I've shared him with you. I want you to be here with me." "No!" she yelled and pushed his hand away. She stood up and shoved his shoulders, knocking him off balance. She grabbed a knife that was by Paul and she lunged at Benji. He dodged it and stood up. She charged at him again. He grabbed her wrist and pulled out a switchblade from his pocket and stabbed her neck. She let out a choking noise and stumbled backward and fell. He grabbed the knife from her hand and began stabbing her over and over again. After her stomach was stabbed into a pulp he licked the knife. "I'll take care of you too." he said, stroking her hair. "You're even more beautiful in death."
He stood up and put Joel's skin back on. He walked to the bottom of the stairs and turned around to look at his friends. Then he went into town to search for a new victim.
THE END
