Chapter 1: Change

"Bye baby." Joel yelled as he shut the door behind him. He was leaving again. I hated it when he left.. the house was so lonely. Besides the noises of two toodlers running around and Benji usually chasing after them.
"Mommy, mommy!" Jonah, the youngest of the twins, yelled as he sat next to me on the couch. "Guess what?!"
"What?" I asked, sitting him on my lap.
"Untle Benji told me a secwet."
"What is it?"
"He told me to tell you dat he..."
"He what?"
"He wuves you." he said, rubbing his face against my shoulder.
"Well, you go tell him that I said he's a stupid ugly boy."
"Otay." He ran up the stairs with a smile on his face. Moments later, Benji came jumping down the stairs.
"Sarah!" he yelled playfully. I pretended to hide myself under the body pillow that was on the downstairs couch.
"Sarah..."
I giggled a little, hinting that I wanted to play.
"Now where could she be..." He took the hint. I peaked my head from the pillow and he was looking in the fridge.
"Well she's not in the kitchen... so I guess I'll just take a seat." He sat down right on top of me.
"Grumph."
"Well, this pillow is a little lumpy." He moved his buttcheeks from side to side. squishing my body with his. "And I still can't find Sarah."
"Benj! Get your fat ass off of me!" I yelled.
"Hey now! First you call me ugly and stupid, now fat? That makes me feel wonderful."
"Well all boys are stupid." I smiled. He smiled back at me and pecked my lips.
"The kids are in there room..." He gave me that look. You know, that 'I want you, and I'm gonna get you' look. It was hot, I must admit. He stood up and grabbed my hand, motioning for the bedroom.
"Benji... I'm married. You know that, hun."
"I know... but you're supposed to be mine."

FLASHBACK:
The doorbell rang as I slipped my black heigh heals on my feet.
"Who is it?" I yelled.
"It's Benj."
A smile came across my face. I was hoping that tonight was the night. The night he asked me to be Mrs. Benjamin Levi Madden. I ran to the door and jumped into Benji's arms.
"Hey baby!" I said as I kissed him.
"Hey..." He didn't kiss back. I knew something was wrong.
"What's up?"
"We need to talk..."
"O..k. Come in." He sat down on the couch and started picking at the fuzzies on it. He was piddling, which ment this was big. "Benj, what is it."
"You know I love you right."
"I love you, too. Now, what is it?"
"You know that I love you more than anything?"
"Yes, Benj! Now tell me what is wrong."
"It's um... over."
"What..." My heart stopped.
"I can't see you anymore... ever."
"Benji, why?"
"I just... don't like you anymore, alright?"
"Liar. You just told me you loved me more than anything." I felt the tears stream down my cheeks. He didn't speak. "Tell me why, Benjamin!"
"Joel's in love with you, alright!"
"What in God's name are you talking about?"
"He told me, Sarah. He told me all his feelings for you, and I can't just ignore him. If he can't have you, I can't either."
"I don't love Joel! I love you, Benj. I love you so much."
"I'm sorry, Sarah. Nothing's going to change my mind."
"Get out!"
"Sar-"
"Get the fuck out of my house! I hate you! I hate you!"
I was crying my eyes out. I had just lost the man I wanted to spend the rest of life with over his stupid brother.
"I love you, Sarah." he said as I closed the door on him.
"I love you, too, Benj." I sobbed, leaning on the closed door.

You can't change the way you feel. I could never do that, I could never do that. But you can't tell me this ain't real, cause this is real. And you can see right through that.


Chapter 2: Predictable

FLASHFORWARD:
I lifted my head off of Benji's bare chest. We were both breathing deeply.
"Jeeze, hot stuff. You ware me out." he said as he began to play with my hair.
"Just like old times?"
"Ehh... not quite. I've done a little growing, if ya know what I mean."
I laughed. "You sure have, Benj. Wait... did we just have sex?"
"Yes, Sarah. I believe that's what it's called."
"Benj. We just had sex."
"Didn't we just go over this?"
"You're not Joel."
"No shit.."
"I cheated on Joel."
"Yeah, you... oooh. Crap."
"Benj! What if he finds out?"
"Don't worry, he won't."
"How do you know?"
"Because, we're the only ones here. I'm not gonna tell him, you're not gonna tell him, so who would?"
"I hope you're right."
"Trust me, I am." I scooted up twards him to where we were eye level; he placed his arm around me. He gave me a soft, sweet kiss and we fell asleep.

I knew it all along. You're so predictable. I knew something would go wrong. So you don't have to call, say anything at all. So predictable.

Chapter 3: Secrets

It was late, around 10 or so, when I woke up.
"Benj. Benj, wake up." I said as I shook him.
"Ehh.. what dude?"
"It's almost 10, you have to wake up. Joel's gonna be home any minute."
"Mmmm..." he mummbled as he squished his head into the pillow.
"Benj."
He didn't answer.
"Benji. Seriously. Wake up."
Still no response.
"Benjamin Levi Madden, get your goddamn ass up!"
I realized that he wasn't going to wake up, so I decided to dress him myself. As I got his boxers on one leg, I noticed Joel's Range Rover pull into the driveway. I hastily put his other leg through and pulled up his boxers as Joel opened the front door and started up the stairs. I threw on Benji's Made shirt and my thong just in time for Joel to make it to the top of the stairs. I quickly laid down and pulled the blanket over the bottom half of me. Just then, Joel opened the door.
"Hey, baby. I'm -" Turning around, he saw that I was 'sleeping'. He slowly and quietly walked twords the bed. He leaned over and kissed my cheeck. "Good night, Sar Bear. I love you." he whispered. It was so sweet, I couldn't help but 'wake up'.
"Hey, Joely." I mummbled as I rubbed my eyes.
"Oh, baby. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you."
"No, it's ok. I wanted to make sure my Joely Moley got home ok, anyways."
He laughed. "Well, I'm ok. I'm gonna go sleep on the couch."
"Why don't you wanna sleep with me?"
"I do, but I don't wanna wake Benj, too."
"It's ok. I'll wake him up while you go put something more comfortable on."
He nodded and went to the closet.
"Benji Baby, wake up." I whispered sweetly into his ear. I've called him that since we were in like 6th grade. It's like my nickname for him.
"Mmm... good morning sexy." He went to kiss me, but I turned my head so he would kiss my cheeck.
"Joel's home."
"Oh," he lifted up the blanket to make sure he was dressed. "I guess you want me to go sleep in my room, huh?"
"Well.. this is Joel and I's room."
"Aight. Night babe. I'll see ya in the morning."
"Good night, Benji." I kissed his cheeck as he opened the door.
"Night bro."
"Night!" Joel yelled from in the closet. He left the room and Joel came in. He turned off the light and layed next to me.
"Have fun today?" he asked, putting his hands on my waist and pulling me closer. He began to kiss my neck.
"Mmhm."
"What'd ya'll do?"
"Nothin much. Just hung around and watched a movie."
"Mm. What movie?"
"Sid and Nancy."
"Nice. What else?"
"We just went to sleep after that."
"Oh." He stopped kissing me. "Ya'll didn't have sex or anything, did you?"
"No.. why?"
"Well, you know how Benj is when he's alone with a girl he's madly in love with."
"Ha. Yeah, I guess. But you don't have to worry about that. I love you too much to do that to you."
"I love you, too, baby." He kissed my nose, which is a big turn on for me. I lifted my leg over his two and pulled his lower body closer as I began to kiss him. He stopped me.
"Woah, what are you wearing?"
"T-shirt and underware."
"You weren't wearing that this morning."
"I changed when we went to bed."
"Yeah, but that isn't my shirt."
"I know, Benj was hot and I was cold so he took it off and gave it to me."
"So you were sleeping without a shirt on at one point? Are you even wearing a bra."
"No, Joel. Just listen. I was wearing a cami and I was cold. I told Benj and he offered me his shirt so I took it and changed."
"Ok.. you promise?"
"Pinky." We wrapped pinkies and kissed our hands.
"K, now we can make out." he pulled me close again and we made out. But in my head I kept seeing Benji and I doing it. It was like a video tape that would play then pause then rewind. Play, pause, rewind. Over and over. And the fact that I lied to Joel about it made me feel even worse. I just couldn't tell him. It was Benj and I's little secret.

Chapter 4: Wounded
*Joel's Point of Veiw*

I woke up the next morning, alone.
"Dammit, what'd I do this time?" I thought. I got up and walked to Benji's room. He was laying on his back with the blanket down to his waist; he was shirtless. Laying next to him was a brunette laying on her stomach. She also, was shirtless. I figured it was just another one of those random girls he brought home late from a club or a bar. I rolled my eyes as I closed the door and headed to check on the boys and look for Sarah. I opened the door to the twins' room and they were sound asleep. I figured Sarah was sleeping on the couch downstairs, so I just went down there. She wasn't there.
Jeeze, where is she? I thought. I went to the kitchen and grabbed the Cinniman Life out of the pantry. As I began to poor some vanilla soy milk into the bowl, Sarah came down the stairs . She was wearing boxers and one of Benji's Rancid shirts. The boxers weren't mine, so they must have been Benji's, too.
"Good morning, baby." she said, comming up from behind me a wrapping her arms around my stomach.
"Yeah."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothin.. you just weren't in the room when I woke up. I figured you were mad at me."
"Oh. No, I'm not. Benj just asked me to go sleep with him. He wasn't feeling well."
"Oh." I went to sit down, then I realized what she had just insinuated. "Wait, what?" I said, my mouth full of cereal.
"I slept with Benj last night. He wasn't feeling well."
"All night?"
"Yes Joel, all night." I couldn't speak. That topless brunette laying next to my twin brother was my wife. She sat down next to me.
"What's wrong now, baby?" I shook my head.
"I gotta go soon." I tossed my almost full bowl of cereal into the sink. I was so mad, I could barely look at her.
"Oh, where?"
"Interveiw."
"With who?"
"94 5. I gotta go to the studio, too. I'll be home late."
"Joel."
"Sarah, I have to go." I went up the stairs and changed into some decent clothes, then headed to the door.
"Bye Joely. Love you."
"Whatever." I mummbled. I closed the door and got in my car.

So you come along. I push you away, then kick and scream for you to stay cause I need someone to help me. Oh I need someone to help me, to help me heal these wounds. They've been open for way too long. Help me fill this soul.

Chapter 5: I Just Wanna Live

Driving down the dirt road that lead our house to sivilazation in my black BMW, I decided to let the top down. I was hoping that some fresh air and the the short company of the horses in the pastures around would cool me off. Copper, Sarah's first horse and the one she mostly road in shows, was standing by the fence with his head hanging over. I decided to stop and talk to him. Maybe it would let off some steam.
"Hey, boy." I said, rubbing the white star on his nose. He nodded his head up against my chest.
"You upset, too?" Once again, he nodded.
"Yeah, I know how you feel. At least your wife didn't cheat on you with your best friend and twin brother." He turned his head to the sound of Sophie, one of the mayers, comming up to the other fence that seperated to mayer pasture and the gelding pasture. Sophie once mated with Copper, before we had him gelded.
"You go ahead, boy," I said, patting his neck, "Go see your woman." He turned around, looking back at me as he walked twords her. I nodded at him and he went on. I watched them sniff each other and rub heads for a few seconds, then I got back in the car.

"We have Joel Madden from Good Charlotte here in the studio today. We're gonna ask him a few questions then he's gonna do an acapello (?) of a few songs from The Young and The Hopless." Rod said, patting me on the back.
"Thanks for being here, Joel." Pam added.
"No, thanks for having me. It's cool to finally get to be on this station cause I listen to you guys every morning. I love your show. And I don't normally like the radio."
"Aw thanks, dude. So you live in Houston?"
"Um, yeah. Right outside of Tomball. My wife, kids, brother, and I own a barn with about 20 acers and a pretty nice house. We like it here."
"Nice, nice. Anything special about the house?"
"I guess. We have a full size basketball court, a pool, a studio, and a few horse arenas."
"Anything for the chillin'?"
"Yeah, we got a little play yard for them. It's got a club house and a swing set and some other stuff."
"So how's things with your wife?" Travis asked, winking at me. I hung my head down a bit and chewed on my lip.
"Pretty good. We had a little falling out this morning, but it's not a big deal."
"So what happend." Rod said, nudging me with his elbow. I just looked at him.
"I'd rather not say."
"Oh, c'mon man. It can't be that big." I took off my headphones and got up.
"We'll uh.. be right back after this song. It's a new one called No Where Near Paradise by Ransome." Everyone also took off there headphones and Rod came behind me, patting me on the back.
"You ok, man?"
"I'm fine, I just.. have to go." I felt a tear run down my red cheeck. "We can finish this another day, this just isn't a good time for me."
"Do you need to talk about it?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Positive."
"Look, what the fuck do you not understand? I said no, now just leave me alone." I walked out of the studio and out to my car. Waiting outside the doors of the studio were a couple of girls wearing tight pink shirts and blue jean skirts. They looked about 17 or so.
"Hey Joel..." one of them said, as she put her hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?"
"No, but you could get to know me." She grabbed my hand with hers and slipped me a note.
"Call me." she mouthed as her and her friends walked away. I unfolded it and it said "Call for a good time. Nikole." then her number. I shoved it into my pocket and got in the car. I started driving down the street, my somewhat long, black hair blowing through the wind.

"I can't fucking do it, Eric." I said, pushing the mic away.
"C'mon Joel. I know you can. Just think of Sarah. That always helps."
"Not this time, okay? I know this song is about her, but I just.. can't."
"Joel, just try it."
"No, Eric! I fucking can't, alright?!"
"Stop saying you can't, when I know you can! I've heard you do it before."
"Yeah, well Sarah wasn't fucking Benj then, and now she is. So I don't have my motivation. Sorry if that an inconvinance for you."
"What?"
"I'm out, Eric. I'll come back when I'm up for singing about her." I put on my shoes, grabbed my bag, and left. I couldn't do it. It was so hard to sing about the love that I have when I'm doubting it. I just wanted to get away. I reached in my pocket a pulled out the number that the girl gave me. I looked it over and thought about it for a second. I picked up my cellphone and started dialing.

It's getting hectic everywhere that I go, they won't leave me alone. These things they all wanna know. I'm paranoid of all the people I meet. Why are they talking to me, and why can't anyone see I just wanna live?

Chapter 6: Say Anything

Just as I went to press send, my phone started ringing. It was Sarah.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey, Joely."
"Hey.."
"Baby, I'm sorry to bother you, but when you left you seemed really upset. I was wondering if you were ok."
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Joel, you don't sound fine, baby."
"Maybe because I'm not."
"Well, tell me what's wrong."
"No."
"Joel!"
"Sarah, just.. I don't feel like talking right now, ok?"
"Ugh, why not? You always tell me everything."
"Because I said so. I'm not telling you, so stop bugging me."
"Joel, you're such an ass sometimes! All I want to know is why you're so upset so I can try to make you feel better."
"Well, there's no use in asking cause I'm not telling you."
"Why not?!"
"Cause there's nothing you can do to make me feel better."
"How do you know?"
"I just do, ok?"
"You're grounded." That was her way of saying no sex or sexual contact for a while.
"What? Why?"
"Because you're being an ass and you're making me go through grief."
"Well, it's not like it would bother you anyways. You could just fuck Benj instead of me." I hung up my phone and turned it off.

Here I am on the phone agian and akward silences on the other end. I used to know the sound of a smile in your voice, but right now all I feel is the pain of the fighting starting up again.

Chapter 7:It Wasn't Enough

I sped down the highway and turned down our little dirt road. The green and white street sign read "Madden Dr." I pulled into the driveway, got out the car, and stormed into the house. Sarah was on the couch crying.
"Joel? Is that you? Joel, wait. Please, just listen." She pleaded, following me up the stairs.
"Why the fuck should I listen to you? All that comes out of your mouth is lies."
"Joel, please. Don't yell."
"I can fucking yell if I want to! This is my house!"
"Please just listen. I can explain myself."
"No, you fucking can't. I know what you did, so don't even."
"But Joe-"
"No, Sarah. I don't even wanna talk to you right now. I'm so fucking pissed at you, it's not even funny." I grabbed a suitcase out of my closet and started throwing random clothes in it.
"Joel, what are you doing? Where do you think you're going?"
"I don't know. Away from you."
"Please Joel, don't do this."
"Don't fucking fret, I'm comming back. I'm not my fucking dad."
"I know.. but I still don't want you to leave."
"Well, you should've thought about that before you skrewed my brother."
"Joel, you havn't even listened to me. Please just hear me out." I grabbed a hand full of boxers, threw them in with everything else, then sat on our bed.
"Fine. I'll listen." She sat next to me and tucked her hair behind her ears, her long bangs falling into her face. She was so beautiful.
"I know.. I did something really bad, Joel. And I regret all of it. Every single moment I regret. I don't know what came over me."
"Ok, great. Now you listen to me. You will never know how awful I feel right now. I gave you my heart, and you didn't even care. You just threw it on the ground and stomped on it and smushed it and just.. broke it. I gave you my love, and my trust. You know I can never trust you again, right?"
"I know, bu-"
"No, hush. This is my time. I just.. God I don't even know why you would do this to me. You're supposed to be my wife, not his. You are my property. My penis is the only penis that's supposed to go in your vagina. That's what happens when people get married. They commit to each other, and no one else. Expecially, not there brother-in-law. It's just.. wrong." My eyes swelled up with tears. "The only reason I'm not thinking of divorcing you right now is because I love you so much, and I know if you promise me that you won't hurt me again, I'll believe you. But if this ever happens again, we're over. No more second chances." She didn't speak "You can talk now."
"Ok.."
"Ok? That's all you have to say?"
"For now." She wiped her eyes and looked at me with the most pitiful eyes. They were dark chocolate brown and they glistened from the tears. She was so irrisistable.
"Come here, you." I grabbed her body and pulled it close as I started kissing her. At first she tried to pull away, but she gave in. We fell over on the bed and continued to make out. As she unbuttoned my shirt, she kissed down my chest. With every touch of her lips, my mind would race. Did I want to do this right now? Was I really in the mood, or was I just trying to prove to myself that she was mine and not Benji's? She got down to my pants and started unbottoning those, too. I had to stop her, as much as I didn't want to.
"Sar.."
"What?" She was breathing deeply.
"Stop it."
"Joel." she moaned; she started talking off my pants.
"Sarah, seriously. Stop it. I don't wanna have sex right now."
"But you started it."
"Well, now I'm ending it."
"Ugh." She got off of my and slammed her head into the pillow.
"Is that all you want? Sex?"
"No, Joel. I just want you to know that I love you."
"Fucking me isn't gonna do it right now.."
"Then what is?"
"I don't know, okay? I'm going to my mom's for the night."
"Oh, Joel. Please, please don't tell her. She's one of my best friends and I don't want her to hate me."
"Fine, but don't call me. I'll be home when I'm home." I grabbed my suitcase and started out the door. I couldn't leave, not yet. I kissed her forehead as she lay there tearing up.
"I love you." she mummbled.
"I love you, too." I walked out the door and back to my car, then headed for Hobby Airport.

I give it all I can, it wasn't enough to keep you in my hands. Should I give up? I try to understand. Was it ever enough? I don't understand.

Chapter 8

"Hello?" My mom said, answering my call.
"Hey, Ma. It's Joel."
"Oh, hey sweetie! I havn't talked to you in so long."
"Yeah I know." I paused. "Look Ma, something happend. I can't go into detail, but it's pretty bad. It's ok if I stay over at your house for a few days, isn't it?"
"Of coure, darling! I would be happy to house you."
"Ok good, cause I'm in line buying a plane ticket."
"Is it really that bad?"
"Yeah... it is." Once again, I paused.
"Flight 107 to Annapolis is now boarding." a woman announced over the speaker.
"Aight well, my planes boarding. I'll call you when I get into Waldorf. I'll explain everything when I get there, too."
"Ok. I love you."
"You, too, Mommy."
I hung up my phone and got onto the plane.

*Benji's Point Of Veiw*
"Untle Binji! Untle Binji! Wate up!" Jonah shouted, jumping on my legs. It was early. Well, at least too early for me.
"Mmm. Go to sleep, kiddo." I rubbed my face into my pillow.
"Mommy told me to wate you up, so you hafta."
I sighed. "Where is she?"
"Her woom."
"Aight. You go lay down. You need to get some rest." He quickly ran off and down the stairs, not listening to a word I said. I walked into Sarah and Joel's room, punk rock posters covering the walls. I looked down to find Sarah lying on her bed, crying.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
She didn't say anything. She just sobbed. I sat next to her and began rubbing her back.
"Is everything alright?"
She shook her head.
"Can you tell me what happend?"
She shook her head again, but this time it was a yes motion. She slowly sat up and wiped her eyes.
"Joel knows.."
"Joel knows... what?"
"About.." She did a little motion with her hands.
"What are you talking about, Sarah?"
"You know..."
"No.. I really don't think I do." She rolled her eyes.
"He knows we fucked, Benji!"
"Fucked? I wouldn't consider it that."
"Then what would you consider it?"
"Love making." She laughed at me. I didn't see what was funny, though. I was dead serious.
"Anyways.. he found out. And now he's gone."
"How? I didn't tell him."
"I don't know... I never asked."
"Oh my God, Sarah. He probably just assumed that we were. You could have just lied to him."
"What if that's not it, though. What if he saw?"
"When would he have seen?"
"I don't know..." She started crying again.
"Aw, Sar. Don't cry. I didn't mean to fuss." I could tell that was the reason. I rarely yelled or mearly fussed at her. I lifted her face by her chin and wiped a tear that was streaming down her face. She made somewhat of a smile. I guess you could say a grin. Her red braces peeked through her lips. She had had them for almost 7 years now. It was becomming. I slowly pulled her face twords mine and we began to kiss.

"And.. that's what happend." I sighed. Mom did the same.
"I'm so sorry, Joel." She hugged me tightly.
"Me, too." I felt my eyes begin to tear. I know guys arn't supposed to cry, but I was so broken. Even thinking about them disgusted me.
"Would you like some tea?"
"No thanks, Ma. But I'll take a beer."
"Joel Rueben! You know I don't keep alcohal (sp?) in my house."
"Oh yeah. Well I'm gonna go to the drug store. I need to pick up a few things. I'll be back." I walked out the door without saying anything.

*No one's Point of Veiw*
Joel sped down the highway as he headed for the nearest Rite Aid. He passed by a few familiar places. The Waldorf City Park, where he got mugged the first time. And the one and only La Plata High School. It was around 2 o'clock and the kids were just getting out of school. Many of them stopped and stared at Joel's black Mercadese Benz (sp?). They wern't used to seeing such a nice car in such a bad area. Joel pulled into the Rite Aid parking lot, and noticed his cell phone ringing in his pocket. He picked it up as he walked into the store.
"Talk." he answered his normal answer to anyone who called his cell.
"Hey dude." It was Benj. The sound of his voice disgusted him.
"What do you want."
"Jeeze.. what's stuck up you're butt?"
"I donno. Maybe it's your mom."
There was a silance.
"Right... anyways. Where are you?"
"I'm at the Rite Aid in Waldorf."
"Why? What are you doing there?" Benji took a deep breath. As he was speaking, Sarah slid down his pants and placed her mouth on him.
"Forget that, what are you doing?"
"Nothin." he sayed short and fast.
"Stop lying to me. I can tell when you're horny." Benji sighed. He couldn't stand lying to his brother.
"Sarah's giving me head..." he mummbled.
"What?"
"Sarah's giving me head."
"What!" He heard him loud and clear this time. He was yelling at the top of his lungs.
"Look, dude. I'm sorry. I really-"
"Sorry isn't good enough, Benj! That is my fucking wife! You don't just let my wife give you head when I'm not there, or when I'm there, or whatever!" He picked up the condoms that were in the basket he had and threw them back onto the shelf. He figured there was no use in having them if he wasn't having sex. He could tell he was causing a scene, so he took what he had and brought it to the check out counter.
"Look, I really don't want to talk to you right now, but I'll call you back whenever I feel like it." He hung up the phone and shoved it in his pocket. The casher handed him the bag. He snatched it, rushed out the store, and drove back to his mom's house. He couldn't think, he was so upset. All he could think about was divorce and suicide.

Chapter 10

I drove down the streets I grew up as I cried. God, why was I such a bitchy hoe? I still couldn't believe I had made the man I love so misurable. I was on the way to Joel's old house. I had to tell her that he was threatening to jump. I knew he probably wouldn't do it, but I just had to make sure someone knew. I pulled into the driveway of the small, two-story house and got out of the rental car I had gotten. I was nervous. I knew his mom loved me to death, but I knew he told her and she would be upset with me. I rang the doorbell and waited. As soon as she opened the door, I fell in her arms and cryed my eyes out.
"Shh.. it's okay sweetie. I know, I know." she comforted while patting and rubbing my back.


"I just.. can't be.. lieve I could.. do that.. to him." I sobbed. We were sitting on the couch.
"I know." She was still comforting me.
"Mom, I don't know why I did it. I love Joel so much and I never ment to hurt him."
"It's ok, Sarah. I know you didn't, and he knows you didn't. I promise everything is gonna be ok."
"Ok," I sniffled. My sobs slowly stopped. "There's something I came here to tell you, though."
"Go ahead."
"Joel was threatening to-" The phone rang.
"Hold on one second, sweetie. That's probably the police."
"No, no. Let me get it." I said, picking up the phone. "Hello?"
"Mrs. Madden?"
"Well.. sort of. This is Joel's wife."
"Oh. This is Waldorf city police. We've found your husband."
"Is he okay?"
"I'm afraid not, ma'am. It seems he was trying to commit suicide. He jumped off of a cliff near the beach and landed on some pretty sharp jetties."
"Oh my God.. Is he concious?"
"Yes ma'am. He's in a great deal of pain. From what we can see he has a broken leg in three places and his rib cage is crushed. We're pretty sure that there are some internal injories, also. And maybe a few other external."
I couldn't say anything.
"Ma'am?"
"I'm here." I felt my eyes begin to water.
"We need you and your mother in law to come down to the site. Do you need directions?"
"No. I know how to get there."
"Ok. Take care ma'am. Our hopes and prayers are with you."
"Thank you." I hung up the phone and began to cry again.
"Is Joel okay?" she asked with concern in her eyes.
"I can't explain it. The doctors will when we get there."
"Get where?"
"Just.. come on." We got in the car and I began to speed down the highway twords the accedent site.


I pulled up the sand dune that I was on earlier that day with my Joely. I was praying that he would be okay. Robin and I both ran out of the car and to the paramedics as fast as we could.
"Where is he?" we asked, out of breath. The medic point to a streatcher that was being put into the ambulance. I raced over there on my own. Robin was to nervous to go. The closer I got the better I could hear Joel's crys of pain.
"Baby? Baby, are you okay?" I said as I got into the ambulance. Joel body was naked. He was covered in bruises, scrapes, and gashes. A blanket was covering the lower part of his body.
"Sarah? Oh my God, Sarah. My body hurts so bad. I wanna die. I wanna die. Please, baby, make it stop." he whined.
"Sh, sh. It's okay Joely. Tell me what hurts."
"Everything! My legs, my arms, my head, my dick, my EVERYTHING!"
"Baby, don't yell. It's only making it worse." Just before they were closing the doors, Robin walked up.
"What do I do?" she asked. She was crying, also.
"Just.. follow us in the car. I'll stay in here with Joel. We'll see you at the hospital."
"O-ok." she ran to the car as they started the ambulance. Just as we got moving, one of the medics began putting a shot together.
"Joel?" he said.
"What?"
"I'm going to give you a shot. It's going to hurt for a few minutes, but it's going to help with the pain."
"What is it?" I asked.
"It's a morphine shot." another doctor replied. Joel began to clinch his teeth with pain. I knew it hurt. My poor baby. Finally, he let out a noise from the pain.
"What the fuck is it with you people? You just keep hurting me more. You're not making me better! Owww!" he yelled. He sounded like a woman going through labor.
"Joely?"
"What, Sarah?"
"I love you."

Chapter 11

A few moments later, we were flying down the highway twords the hospital. The doctors decided that Joel was probably going to have to be put on life support. They had given him another shot that put him asleep; the morphine wasn't helping much with the pain.
"Is he going to be okay?" I asked one of the medics. She was checking Joel's heart rate and blood pressure.
"We're not sure, miss. He's lost a lot of blood so far, and we havn't even checked him internaly yet." She frowned upon the results that the heart machine read. "Smith, I think we have a problem." She was talking to another medic.
"What is it? What's going on?" I ask. Tears were streaming down my face. They ignored me. They were busy crowding around him and the heart rate machine. "What's going on!" I exclaimed. The nurse walked over to me and tried to sit me down.
"Miss, you're husbands going to be fine, he's just having a little heart troubles right now." The ambulance gave a short stop as the doctors prepaired to get Joel out.
"Hurry, get him into ER." I over heard the female medic shout. "Take her to the waiting room." she demanded to the nurse that was calming me. He nodded and grabbed my hand.
"Why don't you come with me, ma'am."
"No! I want to go with him! I want to go with my Joely!" I wiggled my arm free from his grip and ran after the streatcher Joel was on. I got up to it and grabbed Joel crushed hand. "Don't leave me, Joel. Please. I love you." We were now inside of the hospital. The doctors were calling out information about Joel's condition to other nurses. Suddenly, the same male nurse grabbed my arm again.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but you arn't allowed in there right now."
"Let go of me! I want to stay with him!" I yelled. I began to scratch the nurses arm to try to make him free me. "Let me go!" He bent down and pressed a small red button on his uniform. Seconds later, two big police men came and took me away to the waiting room. I was kicking and screaming the whole time. When the police sat me down, they told me that I would be able to see Joel after the doctors checked him over for internal injories. I collapsed on the couch and cried. I wanted to see my Joely. I wanted him to hold me in his arms and let me know everything was going to be okay.
"Sarah?" a familiar voice called out. It was Robin.
"Mom? I'm over here." I sobbed. She found her way over to me and sat down. I burried my head in her shoulder as she tried to calm me. Suddenly, she began to somewhat giggle. "Why are you laughing?" I asked confused.
"Do you remember when you and Joel were in the first grade?"
"Yeah... why?"
"Do you remember that one time when you were playing in the backyard and he fell on a tree root and busted his head open?"
"Heh... yeah." I smirked.
"I don't think I would even consider it busted open. It was only a little scratch."
"Yeah. Then he ran inside and was acting like he was dying." I began to giggle some more. We had some pretty funny childhood memories. "Remember the summer of eighth grade when we were at the beach?"
"And you and Benjamin put red dye in his swim suit."
"And all down his leg. And we yelled 'Everyone, look! Joel started his period!'" We were now laughing histaricly. Everyone around us was looking at us like we were nuts.
"He was so embarassed."
"Yeah..." I sighed. "I hope he's ok."
"Me, too, sweetie. Me, too." She hugged me tightly. We both paused and looked up as a doctor walked in the waiting room with a silver clipboard in his arms. Our eyes followed his motions to see where he was going. He stopped infront of a young girl, about 17 or 18. His head hung low as he spoke to her. Suddenly, the girl fell out of her chair and onto her knees as she cried. She had lost someone, or at least that's what we assumed. The doctor bent down and patted her back to comfort her. Robin and I both took deep gulps. We were praying in our minds that that wouldn't be us. "So.. anyways." she interupted the silance. "Have you spoken to Benjamin since you found out?"
"Oh my gosh, I didn't even think about it. I'll go call him now. I'll be right back."
"Alright, sweetie." I got up and began walking down the white halls of the Waldorf City Hospital. The smell of medication filled the building. As I walked out of the hospital, I turned on the phone and hit 3, speed dial for Benji's cellphone. I patiently waited as it rang for what seemed endlessly. Finally he picked up.
"Talk."
"Hey Benj."
"Why, 'ello love!" he snickered. "How are you doing this fine evening."
"Um.. not so good. I need to tell you something."
"Ok... shoot."
"Joel's in the hospital."
There was a short pause. "What? Why?"
"Look, Benj, I don't have time to go into detail. But I need you here, in Waldorf."
"I'll get the earliest flight I can get."
"Ok hurry."
"I love you."
"You, too. Bye."

I walked back into the waiting room where we were sitting, but Robin wasn't there. Suddenly a nurse tapped me on the shoulder.
"Mrs. Madden?"
"Yes."
"You can see your husband now. Room E208" A small grin came across my face as I hurried to the room. 202, 204, 206, I thought as I passed up the rooms. Finally, I came to 208. I slowly opened the door to reveal the sleeping Joel. Robin was kneeling by his side praying. As I got closer, Robin stood up.
"Benji's on his way."
"Good."
"Where's the doctor?"
"The nurse said he'd be in here in a few minutes."
"Oh.." I whispered.. "Is he awake?"
"Somewhat. I'm gonna go outside." I nodded as I began walking over to him.
"Joely?"
"Hey babe.." he mummbled softly. I could barely understand his slurred words.
"How you feelin'?"
"Not so good."
"Aw.. I'm sorry."
"Yeah, me too." I began to lift up the blanket that was covering his naked body.
"Can I take a look?"
"As long as you don't touch anything."
"I won't." I slowly pulled the blanket down, revealing his lower half. His whole body was scrapped and bruised. He had a few large gashes scattered in random places. The worst one was from the start of his penis to right under his belly button. It was deep, about an inch and a half. It was also very wide. I could see a bit of his stomache linning and a lot of muscle around it. I lightly blew on it and he winced in pain.
"Oww..." he moaned lightly.
"Sorry baby." I looked lower and I saw that his left leg was broken. The bone was a bit bulging out of his leg. I began to explore his upper body and found that his rib cage was indeed crushed. I could tell it made him have trouble breathing. I checked out his head and there was a large gash that was covered by a white bandage. It was exactly where he had fallen in the first grade. Right as I layed his head back down, the doctor walked in. It was the same one from the ambulance.
"How you feelin', Joel?" she asked.
"Eh.."
"Not to good?"
"No."
"Alright, well let's check your tempurater and blood pressure and some other stuff then we can give you some medicane."
"K." She stuck a thermometer in his ear, and just as quickly as she put it in, she took it out. She looked at the results and jotted them down on her clipboard. She looked at the time, then began writing again.
"101.7 temperature." she called out to the nurse that was in there. She then checked his blood pressure. After checking his heart rate, she turned to me. She motioned for me to step outside, so I did. She followed behind. "Well, your husbands got quite a few major injories, Mrs. Madden."
"Are they... well, deathly?"
"Possibly. We've dicovered he has some internal bleeding and his heart rate is very low. We think that he's not getting enough blood pumped to his heart fast enough."
"I-is that all?" I felt a tear roll down my cheeck.
"He's got a deep puncture in his lower stomache. That could be bad, also. He's lost a lot of blood from it."
"I saw that. How did it happen."
"When we found him he was on a sharp rock on his stomache. What we think happend was when he jumped he landed on his upper pelvis area and then slid down the rock and got stuck right under his belly button."
"Oh my goodness. And what about his leg?"
"It was jammed between two rocks."
"And his head?"
"We arn't sure about that. We think that when he was slidding he hit his head on a point of another rock." I rubbed my head, imagining the pain. "He's lucky he's still alive."
"Do you think he'll stay alive?"
"To tell you the truth, ma'am, I don't know. His conditions are very seveare right now. But we'll do the best we can to try to fix the major injories."
"Ok, thank you."
"It's my job, ma'am. You can go back in the waiting room now, and we'll let you know about his conditions as soon as we can."
"Thank you." I walked back in the waiting room and did as the name said... waited.

Chapter 12

I was sleeping on the couch when he woke me up.
"Sar, Sarah! Wake up!" he wispered as he shook my shoulder.
"Mmm... Benji?
"Hey."
"Hey." I sat up and streached. "You didn't take long."
"Are you serious? It's like 12 midnight."
"Oh... how's Joel? Have you seen him?"
"No I havn't, but the receptionist told me that they might have to do some kinda surgery on him if he doesn't get any better."
"Oh my God. Benji this is all my fault."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because! He tried to kill himself because of me!"
"He tried to kill himself? And what did you?"
"Yes, he jumped off of a cliff into some rocks because I cheated on him with you."
"Oh. My God, this is my fault, too."
"No it's not, Benji. It's not your fault. I know how you feel about me and you just... couldn't help yourself."
"Bu-" He was interupted by the doctor walking up to us.
"Mrs. Madden, your husband has requested to see you."
"Oh, ok. Come on, Benji."
"I'm sorry, he's not allowed to go. Family members only."
Benji looked at her like she was an idiot. "I'm his twin..."
"Oh. Well, if you must." She rolled her eyes as she lead us into the room.
"He's not doing so well, so if anything happens then just push the red button above his bed."
"Ok, thank you."
"Mmhm." She walked out of the room, leaving us three alone. Benji looked at his feet as he walked twords Joel's bed.
"Hey bro.." he mummbled.
"Benj?"
"Yeah."
"Hey man."
"How you feelin?" he bent down to where he was eye level with Joel. He turned his head slowly and looked at him.
"Not too good. Dude, my dick hurts."
Benji grinned and kind of snorted. "I'm sorry. Look, there's something I want to tell you."
"Aight, go ahead."
"I'm really, really sorry about what I did. I promise it'll never happen again. Please forgive me."
Joel sighed. "Always, bro. Always." He held out his arms and Benj gave him a light hug. It was so cute, it was like twin bondage. I smiled to myself.
"I'm sorry, too, sweetie. I love you so much. I don't know what I was thinking. You're my one and only and I promise I'll never hurt you again." I said, walking over to him. He smiled as a single tear rolled down his cheek.
"I love you, too." He puckered up his lips, so I bent down to kiss him. Right before my lips came in contact with his, the heart rate machine started beeping at an irreagular rate.
"Joel? Joel are you okay?" He didn't respond. His mouth opened as the machine began to beep faster and faster.
"Sarah! What's going on?" Benji exclaimed.
"I don't know Benji. What do I do, what do I do?!"
"I-I don't know!"
"The button Benji! Help me find it!"
"Found it!" he shouted. A buzzer rang as someone came over the intercom.
"Dr. Shane to ER208. Dr. Shane to ER208." Seconds later, the doctor with a few nurses rushed in with a streatcher. Benji and I just stood there innocently as the doctors tried to figure out what was wrong.
"Get him into intinsive care." Dr. Shane yelled. They got him onto a streatcher and out of the room. My eyes began to water. I was so afraid. All of the doctors and nurses were gone except for one. As they all left, the male nurse walked up to us. It was the same on that tried to calm me earlier.
"Mrs. Madden, you're husband is being put on life support. His heart is beating irreagularly and not enough blood is being pumped through-out his body."
"Is he going to be okay?" Benji asked. I couldn't say anything. My head was burried into Benji's chest and I was crying.
"We don't know. To tell you the truth, there's a 25% chance that he'll live. He's very bad off." Benji's head hung low. "We'll let you know if anything happens."
"Thanks." Benj and I walked away. My head was still burried in him and I couldn't stop crying. He dedided he'd take me to the bathroom. We walked in and I noticed it was the women's. He lifted up my head and dryed my eyes with a paper towel. "Shh. It's ok, baby. He'll be fine. I promise."
"Don't promise me that, Benjamin! You can't tell me that he's okay when he's not!"
"Sh. I'm just trying to make you feel better. Come here." He pulled me close to him. My our cheeks were pressed against one another; his was warm. He gently grabbed my chin and turned my head. We were now face to face. He slowly leaned into me, his warm breath on my face. His lips pressed against mine. His lip rings were cold to the touch. We slowly and passiontatly kissed. Niether of us were even thinking about Joel at the moment. We were too caught up in the moment.

Chapter 13

About a week and a half went by and Joel was still on life support. He was to have surgery to fix his internal injories in about a week. He was moved to the Methodist Hospital in Texas so he could be close to home. Benji and I visited Joel all day everyday at the hospital. We stayed there all night for the most part. If not, then we stayed till we couldn't stay awake anymore. Joel was getting worse, but he wasn't the only one. Benji and I were in the waiting room playing on the laptop when I started feeling sick to my stomache.

*Benji's Point of Veiw*
"Ow... Benji. My stomache hurts." Sarah said, leaning back on the couch. I shut the laptop and put it in it's case as she layed her head on my lap.
"I'm sorry, princess. Do you know why it hurts?"
"No.. why in the hell would I know?"
"Jeeze... I donno. Sorry."
"I'm feelin... kinda... dizzy." That was the last thing she said. Just at that moment, he body became limp. She had fainted.
"Um..." I mummbled to myself as a nurse walked by. "Miss, miss!"
"Can I help you?" she asked sweetly. She was hot. She pulled her long black bangs behind her ears, but they just fell back in her face. That made smile.
"My uh... friend just fainted. What do I do?"
"Oh my. Um, I'll go get a doctor. You just... don't move." She turned around and began to walk away.
"Hey, wait!"
"Yeah?"
"I'm Benji." I held out my hand, introducing myself. She grabbed it gently and shook it.
"I'm Jorden." she smiled. She let go and quickly walked away. I ran my fingers through my hair and noticed that my palms were sweaty. I felt my heart racing, also. I had this really weird felling in my stomache and I felt a bit of confusion. Moments later, the nurse returned with three doctors and a streatcher. I lifted Sarah off of me and put her on there then they rolled her away. Jorden walked up to me and sat down.
"Don't worry, I'm sure your friend will be fine." she reassured.
"Oh yeah, I know she will. She's a fighter."
"Heh. Well we're gonna take her to the another unit of the hospital, so you could wait here or go into another waiting room."
"Um.. I guess I'll just go with you."
"Well, actually. My lunch break started about 10 minutes ago."
"Oh my God. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bother you."
"Oh no, no. It's okay. It's my job. You're welcome to join me for lunch, if you don't mind eating hospital food."
"I wouldn't want to disturb you or anything."
"You won't be. I did invite you, didn't I?"
"Yeah, I guess." I look up at her deep blue eyes. "Sure. I'll have lunch with you."

*Couple of days later; Sarah's Point of Veiw*
I woke up in a cold hospital room. I wondered what I was doing in there. I sat up and looked around to observe. I kinda remembered the room; I guess I had woken up before and forgot. I looked over and a male doctor was looking down at his metal clipboard. I noticed that the room looked different than the ones in the ER unit. So I figured that I wasn't in some deep shit.
"Excuse me?" I said to the doctor. He lifted his head and smiled.
"Well, hello Sarah."
"Hi... um can I ask you what happend?"
"Oh, you passed out."
"Why?"
"Well, we'll just tell you that when Mr. Madden gets here."
"Joel?"
"No, no, no. His brother. Benjamin... I think it is?"
"Oh.. ok. So when will he be here?" Just that second, Benji came busting through the door with and black headed nurse. They were laughing about something. When he saw that I was awake, he smiled.
"Princess. How you feelin?" he asked, kneeling down by me.
"Fine. My stomache hurts a little though."
"Aw. I'm sorry."
"Yeah..."
"Mr. Madden, Mrs. Madden, I have some news for you." the doctor smiled. The girl was standing next to him. She was smiling at Benji. "You ready for this?"
"Yeah, shoot."
"You're pregnant." the doctor smiled.

Chapter 14

*Benji's Point of Veiw*
"What?!" I exclaimed. My mind was racing, and I knew Sarah's was, too. I looked up at Jorden and she turned away. She seemed upset. She must have thought I lied to her about being single.
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutly positive."
"You're sure it's mine?"
"Well, who's else would it be? You are her husband arn't you?"
"NO!" we both exclaimed.
"Oh.. my. Well it seems I've made a bit of a mistake."
"Yeah. Well do you know if it's Benji's or not?"
"Is there a reason it would be?"
"Well..." I looked down at the floor. "A couple of weeks ago, Sarah and I... fooled around."
"I see. And how long ago was this? Exactly I mean."
"Um..."
"3 weeks and 2 days." Sarah said. I looked at her funnily. I wondered how she knew that on the top of her head.
"I see. And when was the last time you had intercorse with your husband?"
"Same night."
"I see..." Sarah looked over at me, worried. "Well, we'll have to take some bood test, but we can't do it just now. We'll probably have to wait about a month or two when the baby has fully devoloped a blood stream." I sighed.
"How long have I been pregnant?"
"About a week. It's about a fifty-fifty chance that it's either of there's. It might actually be harder to tell who's it is because if you had sex only hours apart then your husband's sperm and Benji's sperm could have gotten mixed together." I was really confused. I scratched my head as I tried to put it all together in my brain.
"I see." Sarah said. She was so much smater than me. Maybe not when we were in high school, but she is now.
"I'll give you two a few moments to talk this over. Press the buzzer if you need anything." the doctor said.
"Aight, thanks." The doctor left the room and Jorden followed. "Hold on a second, Princess." I said, following behind Jorden. I softly grabbed her hand and she turned around. "Can we talk?" She nodded, but didn't seem too happy. We walked outside of the room and sat on a couch that was outside of the door. "Look, Jorden. I'm sorry about that whole mess back there. I know that baby isn't mine."
"How would you know, Benji?"
"I just... do. I'd like to see you again, Jorden. If you want to, that is."
"I don't know. I just.. don't know." she sighed. We were silent for a moment. "Here's what I'll do, I'm going to put my number in your phone and you call me next time you're free." she smiled sweetly.
"Ok, I'll get my phone." I went to reach down in my pocket, but her hand was already in there. I was actually startled. "Or you can..." I smiled. She did the same. Seconds later, she handed me my phone and kissed my cheek.
"See ya around, Benji." As she walked away, I stared at her butt. I couldn't help it. She was just so sexy. Suddenly, I realized that Sarah was in there waiting for me. I quickly got up and rushed into the room.

Chapter 15

I sighed as Benji finally walked through the door.
"Sorry, Princess. I had to talk to someone." He was breathing heavily, like he was being rushed.
"Yeah, anyways. What in the hell are we gonna go if this baby is yours?"
"I don't know... we could just tell Joel it's his."
"Benji!"
"What? It'll probably look like him anyways."
"Ugh... Benji the father has to sign the birth cirtificate."
"Oh, yeah. Well we could just tell the doctor that I'm Joel. Then make Joel sign it."
"That makes no sense.."
"I'm just trying to help, dude!"
"But there's no lying our way out of this one. Joel's gonna have to find out sooner or later."
"Well, let it be later. It's most likely Joel's anyways cause ya'll do it more. For now, or for when Joel wakes up, just tell him that it's his. Act like the fact that it might be mine hasn't even crossed your mind."
"And if he says something about it?"
"Tell him that he's 'silly' or something sexy like that and then go do it."
"Benjamin!"
"What? He won't say anything else about it."
"Ugh." I rolled my eyes as I got out of the bed.
"What are you doing?"
"Going to check on Joel."
"You can't get out of bed!"
"Um.. it looks like I can, hun." I grabbed the IV thing and rolled it along with me as I walked out the room.
Benji quickly followed. We walked down the hall and to the elevator. Some doctors and nurses looked at us funny, but no one said anything so we just kept going. In the elevator was a map of the hospital. The ER unitl was right below the maternity ward, so we figured out how to get there easily.
"Sarah?" Joel wispered as I kissed his cheek.
"Hello beautiful." I smiled.
"Arn't supposed to say that to you?" I could tell he could barely talk, but what I said had made him laugh. The doctor told me that he had made some progress in the past hours before I entered the room. She told me that they might be able to take him off of life support after the surgery next week.
"Yeah, I guess." He puckered up his lips, motioning for a kiss. I giggled.
"I don't think so, mister. Remember what happend last time I tried to kiss you in a hospital?"
He paused and thought. "No.." he said seriously, looking at me like I was crazy.
"Of course. Well, you almost died."
"I did?"
"Yes."
"Oh.. oh well! At least I'll die happy." He gave me that sneeky Joel smile. It was adorible. Then, he puckered up again. "Pwease?" he begged. He pouted, and he knew I couldn't resist anything when he pouted.
"Ok, ok!" I bent down and gave it a sweet peck.
"Oh, come on babe!"
"Joel! You didn't ask me why I have an IV! All you care about is kisses!"
"Oh, sorry baby. I'm so out of it, I didn't even notice. So why do you have an IV and why are you in hospital clothes?" I grinned, trying to make it look like I was happy about this. I mean, I was happy, but only if it was Joel's.
"Baby,"
"Yup?" Just that instant, the doctor walked in.
"Joel, I have a bit of good news, and bad news."
"Do I finally get to leave this hell hole?"
She snickered. "Not quite, but you will be leaving sooner. Hopfully."
"Ok so is that the good news?"
"Partly. The main thing is, we've decided to move your surgery."
"To when?"
"Right now."
"Wow... uh. What's the bad news?"
"There are very high risks and there's a chance that you might not live through it." Joel's head dropped.
"Before you get started, can I have a few moments alone with my wife?"
"Sure." She began to walk out of the room, but Joel stopped her.
"Wait, wait!"
"Yes?"
"Can I get out of this bed?"
"I'd think that if your better enough to crack a joke, then you sould be better enough to walk around. Just make sure you're carful, and take your emergancy button with you. Just in case."
"Aight, thanks." And with that, she was gone. Joel turned to me, a wide grin across his face. I knew what he wanted, and he was pretty crazy for even thinking about it.

Chapter 16
*Joel's Point of Veiw*

"No. No, no, no, no, no, no!" Sarah exclaimed. She knew what I wanted. I couldn't help it, though. I hadn't had sex in over three weeks and this might be my last time. I wasn't feeling all that great, but I really wanted to do this.
"Please, baby! We havn't done it it almost a month, and this might be our last time! Ever!"
"Joel! Don't talk like that. You're gonna live, and we're not having sex until you're better."
"Sarah-ah!" I whined. I put on the famous Joel pout and she emdidiatly turned her head.
"Don't you dare give me that face! I'm not giving into you, not this time!"

I rolled off of Sarah, breathing deeply and heavily. We had locked ourselves in a private waiting room that must've been run down or something. I figured that because no one was in there and it was dark and dusty, like no one wanted to be in there.
"I hate you, Joel." she giggled. She was breathing deeply, also.
"Oh, come on! You know you wanted it."
"Shut up!"
"Nah ha. You know know I'm right." I stuck out my toung and she grabbed it.
"We better get back to the room. I'm sure they're looking for you." Just then the speaker came on with a loud boom.
"Paging Mr. Joel Madden to room E208. Paging Mr. Joel Madden to room E208."
"Weird... Let's get dressed." I said. I kissed her forehead and got up. As I began putting on my shirt, I felt my arms becoming weak. I didn't really think anything of it until I couldn't stand up. I felt to the floor with a soft thud.
"Ouch.." I mummbled. Sarah turned around as she was putting her bra on.
"You ok buttface?"
"No.. I can't get up."
"Give me your hand." she said, reaching down. I tried to keep my eyes off of her clevage, but it was kinda hard. "Joel, stop staring at my tits and grab my hand."
"Oh, sorry." She rolled her eyes as I grabbed her wrist. She tried to help me stand, but I fell over again. "Sar, I can't feel my legs." I mummbled.
"What?"
"Go get a doctor."
"Ok, ok. Let me put on a shirt."
"Hurry." I layed there on the floor, helpless. That was the last thing I remembered.

*Sarah's Point of Veiw*
I rushed to the room we were in with doctors following. When I opened the door we found Joel lying on the ground; he looked lifeless.
"Oh my God.." I mummbled. The doctors rushed over to him, making sure he was still concious and breathing.
"His heart is still beating." one of them shouted.
"He's still concious." another one said. The whole time crazy thoughts were rushing to my head. This is all my fault. I did this to him I thought.
"Get a streatcher. He needs to under go that surgery ASAP." the female doctor yelled. I felt tears stream down my face. "You. Come with me." she snapped, grabbing my arm. She lead me out of the waiting room
and pretty much shoved me into the wall. "What did you do to him?"
"I-I didn't mean to." I sobbed.
"Tell me what went on in there. Why did you lock yourselves in there? What in the hell were you doing?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. He said he was ok, he promised he'd be fine. He promised me."
"Tell me what you did." She grabbed me by the shoulders and pushed me into the wall. I was crying so hard, I could barely speak.
"We had sex." I managed to say.
"What?"
"We-"
"No! I heard you. What in the world were you thinking? Because of you, your husband probably won't live."
"Wh-what do you mean?"
"When you have sex, your heart pumps faster. When your heart pumps faster, more blood flows through your body. And when you have punctured veins inside of you, then the more blood that is pumped, the more blood that is lost inside of him. He can't fell his legs because no blood was being pumped to them. Most likely, he
has lost too much blood in his body for him to live anymore. Unless we can get in there in time and fix this
mess that you caused."
"You have no right to talk to me like that! I don't even know you!"
"Yeah, well all that matters is that I actually care about that man's life. Now if you would you excuse me, I
have a life to save." She turned around and paced quickly to Joel's room. I fell on the floor and cried until I
couldn't cry anymore. I wanted to kick that goddamned doctors ass, but I knew she would be able to save
Joel. I just decided I'd punch her lights out after Joel was better.

Chapter 17
*Benji's Point of Veiw*

I was walking back to Joel's room from the bathroom, when I saw Sarah sitting on the floor crying.
"Sarah?" She didn't answer. "Sarah, what's wrong?" I asked, kneeling next to her. She looked up at me and plopped (sp?) into my lap. "Is it Joel? Was he mad about the baby?" After saying that, she just cried harder. I grabbed her by the chin and made her look me straight in the eyes. "Sarah Elizabeth Madden. Tell me what is wrong."
"I killed Joel!" she replied.
"What?"
"I killed him! It's my fault he's dying!"
"Why would you ever say that?"
"Because Benj. It's the truth."
"How is it your fault?"
"It's too compicated right now. I just wanna die."
"Shut up. Don't ever talk like that that. Ever. Did you tell him about the baby?"
"No. I didn't get a chance to." I sighed as I ran my fingers through her hair.
"Shh... don't cry." I held her close to me as we got up and went to the waiting room.

It was almost 6 hours later when we finally heard from the doctor. We were both sleeping.
"Mr. Madden?" Jorden, the nurse I had had lunch with previously, said as she tapped my shoulder.
"Huh- wha?" I sat up and wiped dry drool from my lips. It was sticky. I noticed that Sarah was on my lap, so I moved her head over, which woke her up, also.
"What's going on?" she mummbled.
"It's Joel." Suddenly, I was wide awake.
"What happened? Is he okay? Can we see him?"
"Um.. the doctor wants to talk to you about that in his room." Sarah and I both shot up and quickly raced to his room. I slowly opened the door to take a peek on what the doctor was doing in there. It looked as if Joel was sleeping or something and the doctor was sitting by his side, examining his lower area. She glanced around nervously, then she pulled the sheet down a little more to get a look at his package. I turned my head in disgust. That weird doctor must have had some weird thing for Joel or something. I could probably get her fired, too. I acted like I had just opened the door as we walked in.
"Excuse me? The nurse said you needed us in here.." I said, stuttering a bit. The doctors eyes got big and she looked a little nervous. I guess she was afraid that we saw.
"Oh, uh.. yes. Yes, we've discovered something in Joel's stomache. It looks a bit like a tumor but we're unsure right now." Sarah gasped at the word tumor.
"You mean.."
"He might have cancer." The doctor finished my sentance. Sarah burst into tears again and the doctor rolled her eyes at her. I shot her an evil look, which made her take a step away from me. "We'll have to wait it off and see what happens for now and then we'll do what we can if it's anything severe."
"Is everything else okay with him?"
"Yes, everything else was fine. The surgery went very well and most of his injories are better. He won't be able to be on stage for a while. Not until I approve that he's ok. The cut on his stomache might also effect his singing for a week or so."
"When will he be able to come home?" I was full of so many questions, and I wanted my answers. What I really wanted, though, was for Joel to be okay.
"He'll be ready to leave tomorrow morning."
"Oh, thank God." Sarah sighed.
"Mrs. Madden, I have to recommend that you and your husband not have intercourse for about 3 to 5 days." Sarah nodded, he face seemed to sink at the comment.
"When can we talk to him?"
"He'll probably be awake in another hour or so. He's still a little iffy from the drugs."
"Ok, thank you ma'am." I took of my hat as I shook her hand. What can I say, my mom raised me well. I held the door open for Sarah as she headed to the waiting room. I slowly followed behind her, unsure of what was going to happen with Joel.
